Mr. Yanagi is the father of Ryouko and Naoto Yanagi, as well Michiyo Yanagi's husband. He is the founder and president of the Yanagi Business Conglomerate, a large hotel resort company that is well-known around the world.

Background

Mr. Yanagi is the only child born to his parents. When he grew older, Mr. Yanagi began developing a hotel company in which he became the founder of the Yanagi Business Conglomerate.

He planned to spread the hospitality of Japanese inns around the world, which was, according to himself, a place one could feel at home. Although the business wasn't going well for a while, it eventually got better as Mr. Yanagi and his business became famous all around the world. He traveled to different countries to build large hotels, which is why his family became very wealthy and rich. In between that time, Mr. Yanagi married Michiyo Yanagi, and became the father of two children, Ryouko and Naoto.

Appearance

Mr. Yanagi is a tall man with a few age marks, indicating that he is somewhere in his middle 40s. He has short, well-kept blond hair which mainly drapes over the left side of his face. He is presumed to have blue eyes, but unlike Yanagi, Mr. Yanagi's eyes are sharper. He is seen dressing very professionally.

Personality

Mr. Yanagi is often very easy-going and straightforward. He loves his family deeply, and is not afraid of openly showing his affection towards his children. He is a very caring and kind gentleman. He has a bit of a childish and open side to him, in which he has it easy to get along with people. Although he is somewhat jolly and fun by nature, he can be serious, strict and confronting depending on the situation.

Etymology

• The surname Yanagi means "willow" (柳).

• He took a picture of when Yanagi picked up Mikoto in the air after she confessed to him at the airport, and the same picture was shown at the wedding.
